How do you guarantee three inches of grass in three weeks?
We have refined the seed growing process to the point where we can do this consistently every time. Quite simply, heat is our best friend. (this is why the guarantee is only provided between May 15th and Sept 1st). The hotter it is, the faster your lawn will grow. Hydroseeding creates the ideal growing environment so long as all of the steps are followed.
What type of grass seed do you use?
We have the ability to seed any type of grass desired. By default, we use a proprietary blue/ rye type blend designed for the Treasure Valley and certified weed-free. Our blend is pulled from years of experience dealing with lawns in the Treasure Valley and is by far what grows best in our climate and leads to a lush, full lawn that you will enjoy for years to come. We use the highest quality grass seed available on the market: A professional-grade, drought-tolerant, disease-resistant turf grass seed filtered and coated for guaranteed germination and root growth. Simply the toughest, strongest seed available on the market today.
How much fertilizer is included with my hydroseeded lawn?
We use both a combination of immediate and slow-release fertilizers that not only provide your lawn with all of the nutrients that it needs for three months but stimulates rapid growth. A quickly grown lawn is a healthy lawn and will do a much better job of keeping out the weeds.
Do you use wood fiber or paper mulch?
We use wood fiber mulch. Wood fiber mulch lasts much longer than paper mulch and binds better with the soil, creating an enhanced environment for seed germination. Paper mulch tends to break down much faster and does not retain as much moisture.
Do I need to pre-germinate weeds in my soil?
This step is unnecessary with our process.
When is the best time to hydroseed?
The warmer it is, the quicker your new lawn will grow. Speed of growth is everything. It is the most critical element in keeping the weeds out. So the warmer it is, the better it is to grow a new lawn. Warmer temperatures require more water and are more unforgiving if you miss watering. If you let your newly seeded lawn dry out when it is 100 degrees in the first couple of weeks, you will likely lose your lawn.
How early and late in the season can I hydroseed?
We do not like to seed lawns after early October. After that time, you run the risk of the lawn not being established enough to be susceptible to winter damage. We can seed as early in the spring as you would like. However, the grass will not germinate and grow if the temperature of the soil is below 56 degrees. It will simply lie dormant until it warms up. And the cooler it is, the longer it takes for your lawn to establish.
Why do some areas grow faster (and thicker) than other areas? The two main reasons are soil temperature and your sprinkler system. The warmer the soil, the quicker the grass grows. Sunnier parts of your lawn will grow faster. We see many new lawns that struggle because of either over or under-watering. The challenge with sprinkler systems is that it is almost impossible to obtain uniform coverage. Both over-watered and under-watered areas will not grow as well. You should set your sprinkler system so that every part of your lawn stays moist as you grow your new lawn.
What types of payments do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks.
